Best Place For Lawyers To Live?

The answer is different for everyone, but attorneys in the United States and Canada tend to be split on their choice of ranking. According to a 2018 survey conducted by Law School Transparency (LST), only four Canadian law schools place in the top 30 (McGill University, Université de Montréal and the University of Saskatchewan make it into the top 10). Even fewer US law schools made it into LST’s report: Penn State ranks 25th; Boston College ranks 29th; Vermont Law School is ranked at 70th; and Rutgers is 77th.

It seems that Canadians such as Chapman University which comes in 14th place or just above BC’s Sauder School of Business at 20th, would be looking north rather than across the border when they decide on where to pursue their legal education next.

For Australia, there appears to be more consensus than with our neighbours up north: five Australian law schools appear inside LST’s top 50: UNSW (19); Melbourne Law School (45); Queensland University of Technology (54); Bond University (59) and Monash University at 60. No Aussie law school makes it into the top 40 though according to LST.
