Best Negotiation Books For Lawyers?

I can think of any number, but this one might get the nod. It is short and to the point, like a good traditional contract. However, that’s not all either; it includes many other perspectives on how to negotiate effectively, including multiple tips for what to do when things seem in a state of stalemate.

The book is organized in a clear *chapter* format which makes it easy to find relevant tips or techniques quickly without having to read through several pages at a time. Another bonus is that there are lists at the ends of each chapter summarizing key points from different chapters/the book overall for easy reference later when you need them again. The chapters include topics such as “How To Get In,” “Being Realistic,” and much more without being too heavy-handed – just enough information so that you know when and where they’re found. And best yet, they’re presented in an easy-to-understand step by step format with easily digestable bite size chunks sprinkled throughout each chapter!

Essentially this book is tailored specifically for negotiations involving lawyers…but I STRONGLY urge all lawyers to pick up a copy themselves…lawyers who aren’t listening also won’t be hiring good lawyers or paying well for them anyway! You’ll learn things from this book that will pay off well after you close your last deal…. well worth the money IMO.”

Best Dictation Software For Lawyers?

There are so many unique ways to get your thoughts on paper. You can type, which is fine if you want to take notes but there are advantages to dictation software for lawyers also. First, it’s easier than typing. By pressing keys instead of scrolling through the keyboard, you can use your eyes and hands more efficiently. The second benefit is that by speaking into a microphone or another digital recorder you can speak freely without hurting any fingers that might be injured while typing on the computer keyboard. Other than these two benefits one other thing I like about speech recognition software for lawyers is that it’s easy to avoid confusion in writing by using different text styles when composing letters or emails versus when dictating meetings or legal documents over the phone. Often times creative ideas occur when I’m not thinking clearly because my subconscious mind has kicked in while I’m talking with someone on the other end of the line (or responding to someone’s email). One simple way to avoid this confusion while taking notes or writing an article is by turning off speech recognition once I’m finished communicating with my contact; then review what was said later either via speakerphone (if taking handwritten notes) or after the conversation has ended (for emailing copy edited versions of my conversations). Speech recognition tools are becoming more affordable at reasonable prices which will make them even more useful in our busy lives.
